Reactive Dog

Our group class is designed to fit the needs of dogs that do well with other dogs when off-leash. The class is not designed for dogs with aggression issues towards people and dogs when on and off-leash. Such behaviors need to be addressed individually in one-on-one sessions. Behaviors such as growling, jumping and lunging at the sight of another dog is not an uncommon behavior often caused by the restriction of the leash they are hooked on to.

We focus on teaching the dog an alternative behavior and provide you with management strategies should unexpected encounters occur. We will teach you and your dog to become a successful team. We will provide barriers and a safe and controlled environment in Level 1 & 2. Level 3 is for those dogs that have successfully completed Level 1 & 2 and are ready to encounter real time environments.

Level 1

Our Level 1 class is designed to teach you and your dog new behaviors in a safe and controlled environment. There will be barriers that help with the visual trigger. Training will take place in our dog training center in Campbell.

Lots of small, high value (moist) treats your dog loves.
Favorite toy
Mat
Water
Flat collar, martingale or harness. (no prong, choke or e-collars allowed)
6ft leash (no retractable)

We will provide barriers in a safe and controlled environment.

Vaccination requirements:

Proof of one DHPP vaccine

There are no make-up classes.

For dogs 16 weeks or older

Level 2

Level 2 focuses on decreasing the barriers and distance to other dogs. We will implement the learned new behaviors by increasing the visual to the triggers. In Level 1 we build a foundation of new behaviors and now we will build on them.

Reactive Group Dog Walk

Our walks are designed to take our "reactive" pups out and about on a walk while exposing them to other dogs, bikes, wildlife, and more. The walk will be max. 2 miles. Prerequisite is either Reactive Dog 1,2 or private sessions with us. If you haven't attended our classes please contact us.
